Your new role:
Cell Reports is seeking a full-time scientific editor to join the journal. Cell Reports is a growing open access journal in the Cell Press portfolio and we are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic editor to add to our team in this exciting publishing space. Cell Reports publishes thought-provoking and innovative papers across the entire life sciences spectrum.
This is a full-time in-house editorial position, based at the Cell Press office in Cambridge, MA., Amsterdam or in Oxford, UK. Cell Press offers an attractive salary and benefits package and a stimulating working environment. Applications will be held in the strictest of confidence.
Key responsibilities will include:
Assessing submitted research papers
Overseeing the peer review process for direct submissions and transferred contributions
Establishing relationships with researchers
Working collaboratively with academic editorial board members and editors
Recruiting exciting research
Writing content for the journal homepage, blog and social media outlets
Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press and beyond
Representing the journal and Cell Press at scientific meetings, and visits to research institutions.
The core responsibilities of this position include:
Recruiting exciting research studies and review material
Assessing submitted research papers
Overseeing the peer review process
Engaging the scientific community in their labs and at conferences
Establishing effective relationships with the metabolism research community
Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press and beyond
